    20 Holford Square

    Percy Circus

    London, England

    July 24, 1913

    My Dear Boy,

…Well you seem to be having the anual dificulty about your location for work. But it usually comes out all right and will this time. You must not be too impatient about either money making or marriage. Your mother says you are younger yet than I was when I got married. But I had one on the string didn't I? At least Bath Street showed it.

Well your account of Dr. Bloodgood and his interest in you is typical. The best friends do forget others but seldom themselves. So you will have to be the same-look out for yourself then you know your business is well looked after. I think it will do you good to have a trip to Minneapollis, etc. Why are you so averse to Detroit? Is it because of restrictions in one department?

You never told us if you got a chance to try your idea on that child in Philidelphia some 2 months ago.…

The papers here are critising Mr. Bryan account of his inability to live on his salary as Secretary of State at least where he has considerable money of his own without lecturing for more.…

    Your affectionate Father
