    My Dear Son

…Well we have moved. We did not have very much to move, only a trunk and the valises. Not as big a job as we had in Baltimore. I like it here better than the last place. We have a nice little park accross the street. It is a private park just for the people in the Square or block.

I can do quite a little of my own cooking. Pa was getting tired of boarding house meals and looking out for cat hairs. They have no cats here and I am very glad of it. I asked them if they had any cats when we came to rent the room.

The lady did not like it because we moved and I was a little afraid she might keep the letters if any was left there.

I think we won't go back to the U.S.A. before September if we come this year. I was thinking if you stayed at Hopkins for only one more year, we had better stay another year till you get a permanent position. What do you say about it?

Frank James sent us a lot of Democrats with the high school graduates pictures in it.… It was a girl that was valedictorian and salutorian. I think you were the last boy valedictorian.…

    Your loving Mother
