    My Dear Boy

    …I must say we were glad to learn that you had enjoyed your trip but above all that you where feeling good and weighing 160 which is not so bad after not haveing any of the little Bosses cooking for so long. So continue to look well after yourself.

    It won't be long till spring and I think we shall come sure then unless you say no acct of prospect change. And according to my spirritulist freind with Mr. Seddon you are going to stay some time and climb higher, that you are all right, and been haveing some laughs about Spirritulism. She also said we would not go back this year and would have another short visit to Seddons.…

    If we had come back sooner I could not have found you that little Irish girl like Mama. I have made another step further than last week in the matter. She is going to give me her photo for you to see. That is going some isn't it. It is hardly observing the Monroe Doctrine in regard to entangling aliances but if that Doctrine interfeers with present desires by both parties it should be abrogated and from my observation (and the Bosses) it does.

    Anyhow you will shortly see her picture and you can form better idea. She is just as heavy as Mama and about as tall as those two Warren girls in Sedalia-Massessechutes St. I fancy I hear you say I am going two fast for you but I want you to get all good things and you are working two hard to observe them so what I see I remind you about and perhaps between the two of us, rather the 3 as the Boss says she is the only girl she could ever recommend for her boy. So you can form some conclusion from that. They went home yesterday and as I think you will have lots to bother your mind without further subjects of this kind I won't say more at present. Ah yes, Mama showed her your picture taken at Columbia. She said it was very nice. However don't neglect building for the future rather than the immediate present because of theese things as they will keep or provided for in other ways.

    Well I see your stock is slightly below price paid but like you I think it will come all right unless Democrat politics interferes with it.

    Sorry you missed the prize but never mind. Mama burned the letter you sent about it. She don't want to keep anything that is not in your favor.

    We are still haveing all kinds of labor troubles, in Dublin especialy.… I feel larger revolutionary conflict will occur before long as present system can't last long this way.…
