Schaumburg, Ill, May 20, 2025 – The Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) and Neurosurgery Publications are pleased to announce the selection of Dr. Danielle Golub as the 2025-2026 Neurosurgery Publications Resident Fellow and Dr. Christopher Carr, as the 2025-2026 Neurosurgery Publications Deputy Resident Fellow.
Drs. Golub and Carr were selected after a thorough review of all applications received by the Selection Committee.
Dr. Golub is a neurosurgery resident at Northwell Health / Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra in New York. She received her undergraduate degree in Cognitive Science from the University of Pennsylvania where she completed a senior honors thesis on the neural correlates of reward and feeding behaviors in the brainstem and graduated magna cum laude. She received her MD from the New York University School of Medicine and additionally completed a Master of Science in Clinical Investigation and Translational Research through an NIH-funded grant program at NYU’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute.
Dr. Golub’s clinical and research interests lie at the intersection between surgical neuro-oncology and skull base surgery. Her clinical research has focused on broadening applications for and optimizing techniques in endoscopic endonasal surgery, cerebrovascular bypass, and complex microsurgical approaches to skull base lesions. Dr. Golub is also deeply involved in trainee education and runs her own research and mentorship team, which currently includes over 30 students, residents, and fellows from 7 different institutions.

It is an incredible privilege to be able to learn the ins-and-outs of managing, curating, and disseminating the most critical research in our field and to work alongside esteemed faculty from across the country and around the world to advance neurosurgical practice. I additionally hope to use this opportunity to develop programs to facilitate cross-institutional collaboration and help improve the quality of our neurosurgical outcomes research,” said Dr. Golub.
Dr. Carr is a neurosurgery resident at the Medical College of Georgia. He received undergraduate degrees in economics, English, and film from Duke University and worked in business in Japan. He completed a postbaccalaureate premedical course at Harvard University and the MD/MPH program at Tulane University, concentrating in epidemiology. Dr. Carr’s clinical and research interests include cerebrovascular neurosurgery, intracranial pressure management, neurotrauma, epidemiology of neurosurgical disease, and aerospace neuroscience. He is interested in clinical trials and developing economies of scale in research.
