Why is the 2020 CNS Annual Meeting being cancelled?
The health and safety of our members and the patients they serve are extremely important. As we continue to monitor the current situation surrounding COVID-19, we have weighed the options for the upcoming meeting and have decided to cancel the 2020 Annual Meeting in Miami, Florida.
How are registration payments being handled?
The CNS is reaching out to process registration refunds. Options to donate, apply to dues, apply to next year’s meeting registration, or request a refund are available by completing this form.
How are registration refunds being processed?
Refunds for registered attendees will be processed within 6 weeks. Once your refund has been processed, your credit card should reflect the refund transaction amount. Please check your credit card statements, as it may take more than one billing cycle for the refund to appear. You do not need to contact CNS to initiate a refund. If you have not received a refund in 6 weeks, please contact meetings@cns.org and a CNS staff member will get back to you.
How are corporate and exhibitor refunds being handled?
Please refer queries to corporatedevelopment@cns.org. Our representative will propose a variety of options for our corporate clients, including refunds, prepayment for 2021, or reallocation for other activities.
Is the Joint Tumor Section Satellite meeting cancelled?
Yes, the Joint Tumor Section Satellite meeting, which was scheduled for September 11–12 in Miami, has been cancelled. Please refer to https://www.tumorsection.org/ for updates and FAQs.
Is the CNS Oral Boards Review Course cancelled?
Yes, the CNS Oral Boards Review Course, which was scheduled for September 12–13 in Miami, has been cancelled. Options for rescheduling this meeting are being investigated. If you registered for this course, you will be contacted by a member of the CNS staff regarding the refund of your registration fees.
Is the 2020 CNS Annual Business Meeting still being held?
Yes, the 2020 CNS Annual Business Meeting will be held online on Tuesday, September 15 at 3:00 pm CDT.
Are all additional events associated with the 2020 CNS Annual Meeting cancelled?
Yes, all additional events, including receptions and committee meetings, have been cancelled. For committee meeting contingencies, please contact your committee chair/staff liaison directly.

The 2021 meeting will retain our 2020 theme "Vision for the Future," because there is no better time to look forward with a focus on leadership, innovation, excellence, and resilience. At the 2021 CNS Annual Meeting, you can expect more of the data-driven science, first-rate speakers, and interactive learning opportunities for which the CNS is known.
What are the dates and location of the 2021 CNS Annual Meeting?
October 16–20, 2021 in Austin, Texas
Will attendees and exhibitors be refunded by the CNS for hotel and airline costs?
The CNS will not be able to reimburse you for your travel expenses. Unless you booked your hotel with MCI, the official CNS housing provider, you will need to cancel your hotel reservation on your own by contacting the hotel directly. We suggest you contact your airline and inquire about their refund/change policy. Some special speakers and guests may have individual honoraria for travel and accommodations.
What will happen to my submitted abstract?
The CNS and CNS Scientific Committee are currently evaluating options for how to best address abstracts submitted for the 2020 Annual Meeting. Authors will be notified once a decision has been made.
I submitted an application for Resident Housing. Can this be applied to 2021?
No, your resident housing application will not carry forward for the 2021 CNS Annual Meeting. You will need to submit a new application in 2021 to apply for resident housing next year.
