quadriceps femoris is the correct answer. Far lateral disc herniation at L4-5 is most likely to affect function of the quadriceps. Far lateral or zone 3 lumbar disc herniation will most often affect the exiting nerve root at the pathologic level. At L4-5 this will be the L4 nerve root.
