In this episode, we explore whether timing of surgery influences long-term clinical outcomes in patients presenting with lumbar disc herniation. Previous literature has shown non-superiority between surgical intervention and conservative management, however, the optimal timing of surgery remains controversial. Here, we discuss timing of discectomy as a predictor of outcomes in patients with this presentation and compare long-term postoperative outcomes.
