Monday, July 4, 2016 (All day) to Friday, July 8, 2016 (All day)

About the Event:

The aim of the course, directed by Prof. Fontanella, Neurosurgery, Prof. Nicolai, Otolaryngology, and Prof. Rodella, Anatomy, is to offer an overview of the applications of transnasal endoscopic surgery, starting from simple procedures performed under local anesthesia to more extensive operations adopted for inflammatory disease, benign and malignant sino-nasal tumors, skull-base diseases, sellar and parasellar lesions, down to the clivus, nasopharynx and cranio-vertebral junction.

The course will provide a hands-on section (endoscopic endonasal dissection of injected, fresh frozen specimens), to be held at the University of Brescia. This will be followed by a live surgery phase with two running operating rooms in which different operations will be shown and discussed step by step, to be held at Spedali Civili.

Lectures will be provided by local and international faculty, all of which are recognized leaders in the fields of endonasal endoscopic surgery, endoscopic skull base surgery, radiology and endocrinology.

There are 12 full course spots available, which includes attendance to the hands-on portion of the course, and 6 spots for observers.
