About the Event: 

This course is designed for Internists, Family Practice/Primary Care, Pediatricians, Orthopedists, Neurosurgeons, Pain and PM & R Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Physical Therapists, and Physician Assistants. The intended result of this live activity is increased knowledge, competence, and performance in the diagnosis and treatment of individuals with spinal deformities and injuries. Topics will address acute and chronic spinal issues, including spine emergencies. Topics will be presented on assessment, medical and surgical management, pain management and physical therapy. At the conclusion of this seminar, attendees should be able to:

• Perform a focused and efficient cervical and lumbar spinal examination.

• Choose diagnostic testing for patients to accurately diagnose the injury.

• Recognize and conservatively manage cervical and lumbar pain in adults.

• Counsel on behavioral changes to improve quality of life for those patients with chronic neck and back pain.
