65 year old woman with hemiparesis

History and Exam

  • 65 y/o female presents with confusion and difficulty ambulating
  • Past medical history is significant for multiple myeloma, for which the patient is not currently in treatment
  • On physical exam, the patient is alert and only oriented to person. Her face is symmetric, LUE is 5/5, RUE is 4/5. Bilateral LE’s are difficult to examine but she does spontaneously move them and overcome gravity. 
  • CT scan report from outside hospital reports “acute on chronic epidural hematoma”
