Resident SANS Challenge Competition

The eight programs with the top scores will participate in the live, on-site SANS Challenge at the 2018 CNS Annual Meeting, October 6–10, in Houston, Texas. The live challenge will have multiple prequalifying rounds, followed by a 45-minute final round where the top teams will compete for indisputable SANS bragging rights, trophies, and cash prizes!

  • Sunday, October 7, 1:00–3:00 pm: CNS Resident SANS Challenge Preliminary Rounds, Room 381
  • Tuesday, October 9, 1:45–2:45 pm: CNS Resident SANS Challenge Championship Round, Room 381

The SANS Challenge exams reflect a milestones-based assessment, use peer-vetted questions, and ultimately accurately represent the high educational standards SANS has brought to neurosurgery self-assessment and education for more than a decade. 

Resident Program Abstract Competition

Congratulations to the following residency programs for submitting the most accepted abstracts for the Annual Meeting!

  • 1st – Yale University School of Medicine (44 accepted abstracts)
  • 2nd – John Hopkins University School of Medicine (39 accepted abstracts)
  • 3rd – Mount Sinai Medical Center (35 accepted abstracts)
Sergeant-at-Arms Program

Residents and Fellows, choose to participate in the Sergeant-at-Arms Program at the 2018 CNS Annual Meeting in Houston, Texas and attend your assigned course for free!

When registering for the meeting, select the courses you are interested in from the drop-down provided. You will then be contacted by a CNS staff member with your assigned course. This is first-come, first-served with only one opportunity per course. The duties of the Sergeant-at-Arms include scanning attendee badges for your selected course.
