GENERAL QUESTIONS
Q: When is the 2015 CNS Annual Meeting?
  The 2015 CNS Annual Meeting begins on Saturday, September 26 and runs through Wednesday, September 30.
 
Q: Where is the 2015 CNS Annual Meeting?
  The 2015 CNS Annual Meeting will be held at Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, LA.
 
Q: When will the Preliminary Program be available?
  The printed Preliminary Program will mail to all CNS Members in late-May. In the meantime, please view Sessions and Schedule section for a preliminary program schedule and listing of available optional courses.
 
Q: How can I receive a copy of the Preliminary Program?
  All CNS Members will be sent a copy of the Preliminary Program in May. Others may contact the CNS to receive a copy.

Q: Who should attend the Annual Meeting?
  Neurological surgeons, neurosurgery nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, orthopedic surgeons, primary care physicians, gerontologists, radiologists, hospital administrators, oncologists, neurologists, pediatricians, physiatrists and infectious disease specialists are welcome and encouraged to attend the 2015 CNS Annual Meeting.
 
Q: How do I apply for a Visa to attend the 2015 Annual Meeting?
  The CNS International Attendee web page provides attendees with Passport and Visa information as well as a customized invitation letter.
 
Q: Do I have to be a CNS Member to attend?
  No, however, CNS Members enjoy Annual Meeting discounts so we encourage you to consider membership as a good investment in your continuing neurosurgical education. For information on becoming a CNS Member, go to www.cns.org or contact the CNS at 847 240 2500.
 
Q: Will there be wheelchair rentals available on site?
  Scooter and wheelchair rentals are available for a fee through The UPS Store and must be reserved prior to your arrival. Please call them at 504-670-8887 or go to www.theupsstorelocal.com/6216 for further information. The UPS Store strongly suggests that you reserve your scooter at least 72 hours in advance.
 
Q: Where is the CNS Spouse Hospitality Suite located?
  All registered Annual Meeting spouses and guests are invited to visit the CNS Spouse Hospitality Suite at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside Hotel, Monday through Wednesday from 8:00 – 10:30 am for continental breakfast. Please note that admittance to the Spouse Hospitality Suite is by Spouse/Guest badge only.
 
Q: What hotels are near the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center?
  Hilton New Orleans Riverside is the official CNS Headquarter Hotel and is conveniently .4 miles from the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. More information on the Headquarter Hotel and other properties.
 
Q: What is the climate in New Orleans, LA?
  New Orleans has a subtropical climate with pleasant year-round temperatures. September temperatures range from a high of 88 to a low of 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Rainfall is common in new Orleans; in September, the average is 5.9 inches of precipitation. We recommend bringing a light cardigan or jacket to layer over clothing as needed.
 
Q: Where is the CNS Opening Reception?
  The Opening Reception is being held at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside from 6:30 – 8:30 pm on Sunday, September 25. Each Annual Meeting registrant will receive one complimentary ticket to the Opening Reception. Additional tickets can be purchased on-site for $100 each on a first-come, first-served basis.
 
Q: Who is the 2015 CNS Honored Guest?
  Kim J. Burchiel, MD is the 2015 CNS Honored Guest. He will be speaking at various sessions throughout the week.
 
Q: Who is the Walter E. Dandy Orator?
  Rudy Giuliani is the Walter E. Dandy Orator. He will be speaking on Monday, September 28 in General Scientific Session II.
 
Q: When will I receive my record of CME (Continued Medical Education Credit)?
 

Online CME Credit Process! CME credits can be claimed through the online CME system at www.cns.org and sent to you via e-mail. This system lets you create and print a CME certificate immediately following the CNS Annual Meeting from the convenience of your home or office.

You will need to enter the number of hours you are claiming for each session you attended including Practical Courses, Luncheon Seminars, Dinner Seminars, Symposia, General Scientific Sessions, the Original Science Program, Special Courses, and Section Sessions. CME Certificates can be printed directly from the online CME System once you have entered the hours you are claiming.

 
Q: Can my friend/child/medical technician join me in the exhibit hall without registering?
  No. Everyone who enters the exhibit hall must be a registrant of the meeting. There are no one-day registrations and all guests must pay the full guest fee of $125 ($75 for Resident Spouse). Due to safety concerns, children under the age of 18 are not permitted in the Exhibit Hall at any time, even if they are registered.
 
Q: Where will future CNS Annual Meetings be held?
  Future CNS Annual Meetings will be held in the following locations:

Boston, MA, October 7 - 11, 2017
Chicago, IL, September 22 - 26, 2018
 
Q: Where is the Press Room?
  Press activities will take place at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Please stop by the Registration Area for details.
 
Q: Will there be shuttle services available?
  Shuttle service to Ernest N. Morial Convention Center will be available from all hotels except the Hilton New Orleans Riverside and Embassy Suites New Orleans Convention Center. A shuttle schedule will be posted at the hotels and convention center.
 
Q: How far is the airport from the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center?
  Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport is approximately 15 miles from Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Travel by car can range from 20-25 minutes.

REGISTRATION
Q: When will registration and housing open?
  Online registration and housing is now available.
 
Q: Do faculty members have to register?
  Yes. All attendees must register.
 
Q: Do faculty members have to pay for the course they’re leading?
  No. Faculty receives tickets to their courses free of charge.
 
Q: Does the Sergeant-at-Arms have to pay for a ticket to the specific course they’re aiding?
  No, but they will need a ticket.
 
Q: Where is CNS Registration?
  The CNS Registration Area is located on level one of the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
 
Q: Where can I talk to a CNS staff member regarding special issues or problems with my registration?
  There will be a Registration Assistance Counter in the CNS Registration Area at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
 
Q: Where can I purchase additional tickets?
  In the CNS Registration Area at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, there will be an On Site Registration Counter for additional ticket purchases.
 
Q: If I registered in advance, where can I pick up my materials (which include badge, tickets and program book)?
  At the Advance Registration Counter of the CNS Registration Area at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
 
Q: If I am not pre-registered for the meeting and want to register, where do I go?
  Proceed to the CNS Registration Area in the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Medical Registrants should go to the On Site Registration counters; exhibitors should go to the Exhibitor Registration counters.
 
Q: Can I pick up my friend/colleague/relatives registration packet?
  No. Only the primary registrant can pick up packets. Spouses cannot pick up the packet, nor can friends, colleagues or relatives.
 
Q: I did not register in advance for a session that is now full. Can I get a ticket?
  Seats are limited in Luncheon Seminars, Dinner Seminars, Practical Courses and Symposia. Tickets for those events are sold at the On Site Registration Counters, on a first-come, first-served basis. Once sold out, no additional tickets will be available. However, there are often other interesting courses available at the requested time. Please check your program and the monitors for course selection and availability.
 
Q: My confirmation of registration indicates I have overpaid and have a refund due. How and when can I get my money back?
  Refund checks are mailed approximately three to four weeks after the Annual Meeting. However, while you’re at the meeting you may use your credit balance to purchase tickets to other scientific events.
 
Q: My registration badge is not correct. Can it be fixed?
  Yes, see the registration personnel at the Registration Assistance Counter, located in the CNS Registration Area in the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Proper identification will be required.
 
Q: Are children allowed to attend the CNS Annual Meeting?
  Children over the age of 12 may register as a guest at the Guest Registration fee of $125. This will allow access to the Spouse Hospitality Suite, Opening Reception and General Sessions. Please note that children under the age of 18 are not allowed in the Exhibit Hall.
 
Q: Is there day care available on site?
  Should you desire babysitting services, please contact the concierge desk at your hotel.

The CNS has no control over and assumes no responsibility for the care that is provided through hotels. This information is provided solely to assist participants in identifying possible sources for childcare.
 
Q: Where can I check on the availability of the ‘ticketed’ scientific events at the meeting?
  A monitor will be placed in the CNS Registration Area in the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. The monitor scrolls all “ticketed” events. Registrants can check this screen to see if tickets are available for purchase.
 
Q: I lost my ticket. Can I get a replacement?
  Yes. See the registration personnel at the Registration Assistance Counter, located in the CNS Registration Area in the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Proper identification will be required to reprint any tickets.
 
Q: Can I get an extra program book for my associate who was unable to attend?
  If there are any extra program books left on Wednesday, they will be available for your non-registered associates. Come to the Registration Area located in the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center on Wednesday to inquire about extra program books.
 
Q: When is the early registration cut-off date?
  Early registration ends Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 5:00 pm CST.
 
Q: What is the registration cancellation policy?
  All refund requests must be received in writing by Thursday, September 3, 2015, 5:00 pm CST.

Full registration refunds, less a $100 processing fee, will be granted if written requests for cancellation are received by 5:00 pm CST on September 3, 2015. Course, seminar and event tickets will be refunded in full until September 3, 2015. No refunds of any kind will be given after this date, regardless of cause. Refunds will not be given for no-shows.

Q: Where can I obtain a receipt for my registration to the CNS Annual Meeting?
 

If you registered in advance using the Online Registration System a confirmation was sent to you via e-mail with all your registration fees listed.

If you registered on site, the receipt you received from the cashier lists your registration, Practical Courses, Luncheon Seminars, and any other events for which you registered.

Please stop by On Site Registration or the Registration Assistance Counter to have an additional receipt printed.

Q: Who can I talk to about my CNS Membership?
  The CNS Membership staff will be available to answer questions during open Exhibit Hall hours in the CNS Member Services Booth #1117.
 
Q: Where can I find the CNS publications information?
  Publication information will be available at Wolters Kulwer Health, Booth #706 in the Exhibit Hall during open Exhibit Hours.
