    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Define and implement the strategic plan for educational programs and meetings (annual meeting, live courses, online education and section meetings).
    • Oversight of all live and online education and meeting (department) budgets, scientific program/curriculum, vendor contracts, revenue models and opportunity for growth.
    • Ensure compliance with accreditation requirements and maintain high quality of educational content and format.
    • Supervise and lead Education and Meetings staff (performance management, professional development, communication, collaboration).
    • Collaborate with committees, internal stakeholders (marketing, development, membership, finance), and external partners and affiliates.
    • Monitor and analyze learning outcomes and participant data; recommend improvements for growth or change.

    Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Extensive, strong leadership, staff mentoring, strategic thinking, stakeholder management experience.
    • Experience in adult education, ideally with a solid understanding of adult learning principals.
    • Strong experience with adult learning, accreditation processes (ACCME).
    • Excellent meeting/planning project management skills, budget oversight.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to manage complex programs, multi‐site logistics, vendor relations.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
    • Required and demonstrated supervisory success with a large staff team.
    • Minimum 10 years of experience in association/meeting/education management, with 3-5 years in a senior leadership role.
    • Experience with scientific/medical/healthcare education preferred.

     

    Work Environment and Physical Demands

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office environment with light noise. Work may be frequently interrupted. The employee will spend the majority of the workday sitting, computing, and talking/hearing. May require lifting (boxes) in the 10-25 lb. range requiring the ability to bend at the waist and knee.

     

    Schedule and Travel Requirements

    May require more than 37.5 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position. Ability to travel to meetings at national, regional, or local venues and fulfill evening or weekend obligations. Under 10% air travel is required.

    Starting salary of $120,000-$130,000, commensurate with experience.
