American Association of South Asian Neurosurgeons (AASAN).

Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI)
Implemented in 2007, the WHTI requires all persons traveling by air between the United States and Canada,
Mexico, Bermuda, and the Caribbean region to present a passport or other valid travel document to enter or re-enter

Location of the 2009 CNS Annual Meeting
Ernest N. Morial Convention Center
The 2009 CNS Headquarters Hotel is the New Orleans Hilton Riverside, located at Two Poydras Street, New Orleans, Louisiana.
Registration and Information Desk
Registration and housing will open in 2009. Check back soon for details.

Exhibition
There will be an ongoing industry exhibition in the Exhibit Hall at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, where posters are displayed and coffee and tea are served during the breaks.

Climate and Clothing
New Orleans has a subtropical climate with pleasant year-round temperatures. October temperatures range from 59 to 79.
Local Transportation
New Orleans is one of the world’s busiest ports and the cultural capital of the South, yet the city is remarkably compact and easy to navigate.
Many of the city’s attractions, accommodations and event venues are within walking distance of each other.
But, if you prefer wheels to legs, New Orleans has a very accessible and reasonably priced public transportation system, including the
RTA bus system and the city’s famed streetcars, which travel the Riverfront and Canal Street. As one of the world’s top convention and meeting
destinations, New Orleans also has a range of national car rental agencies
as well as taxi
and limousine services.
Even the Louis Armstrong International Airport is convenient; just 15 miles from the Central Business District and French Quarter,
it is a quick ride away, whether you go by bus, shuttle, taxi or limousine.
Electricity
The U.S. uses 110-120 volts AC (60 cycles), compared with 220-240 volts AC (50 cycles) used in most countries in
Europe, Australia and New Zealand. If your small electrical appliances use 220-240 volts, you will need a 110-volt transformer and a
plug adapter with two flat parallel pins to operate them in the United States. Downward converters that change 220-240 volts to 110-120
volts are hard to find in the U.S.
Shopping / Tours
Like most things in this most unusual of cities, shopping in New Orleans is a wholly different experience. Though the surrounding areas boast
malls to rival any in America, New Orleans still believes in the old-world marketplace tradition. From the French Market,
America’s oldest operating public market, to Magazine Street, known locally as the “Street of Dreams,” you're sure to discover one-of-a-kind treasures throughout the Crescent City.
Shopping is just the beginning of the New Orleans experience. From live Jazz and Blues to some of the best dining in America, you'll
