IML: Community Learning – Up to 6 Hours Extra CME!

Learning Objective
Participants in IML: Community Learning will review the most relevant scientific literature and use digital interactivity to help define the content and direction of faculty presentations in the General Scientific Sessions. Participants will define knowledge gaps, shape the content of expert presentations, and identify important topics for future scientific sessions.

CME Certification and Accreditation Statement.
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essentials and Standards of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the Congress of Neurological Surgeons. The CNS is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The CNS designates this educational activity up to a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits per IML thread (see below). A maximum of two Category 1 Credits may be earned on each day, although learners may voluntarily participate in all 6 thread on any day if desired. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

In order to obtain CME for an IML: Community Learning, you must participate in all four parts of the track:

  1. Read the presentation’s abstract. (there are 6 abstracts on each of three days, 18 total, to choose from).
  2. Submit at least one question regarding the presentation. You have the opportunity to raise important questions to the experts and help focus their presentations to your educational needs.
  3. Attend the session at the Annual Meeting in Orlando. Audience members will also have the opportunity (optional) to submit live questions using handheld electronic devices during the session.
  4. Answer a very brief post-meeting online poll, confirming your participation, evaluating the experience and suggesting a future topic of interest. You will automatically be sent an instant polling link using the email address you gave us when submitting your pre-meeting question to the expert.
You will receive one extra Category 1 CME credit for each IML: Community Learning string completed (up to 2 extra CME hours maximum per day, 6 extra hours maximum for the 2008 Annual Meeting. You can also earn other additional credits for participating in IML Clinical Science during the afternoon Section Sessions).
